911 is not Fursday Funny

But Bush thought the day ended on a humorous note. Let's see, while the rest of us were reeling from shock and trying to figure out how to explain to our kids that we had been attacked and thousands of people were probably dead- Bush thought the day made for mad-cap shenanigans involving the Secret Service.

Noonan: So the day starts in tragedy and ends in Marx Brothers.

President Bush: That's right -- we got a laugh out of it."

Nice that he could sleep that night though- he may have been the only one in the country who did.

I think in Bush's mind the message of that story is that he is going to sleep upatairs, in his bed, no matter what the terrorists do: "You know, kind of a nester. Like the way things are." (Classic Bush by the way.) But then he tacks on this funny situation that isn't remotely funny. I get it. What the hell is funny about the President having to run from a false alarm on 9/11?!?!
